Software Testing & QA Metrics: Defects, Coverage & Release Readiness
Run the numbers a test manager reports every day: execution status, defect density, defect removal efficiency, severity × priority matrix, defect ageing, test estimation, requirement coverage and a Go/No-go release checklist, every cell checked live.
The first lesson is free — no account needed.
About this course
A software testing metrics course that produces the numbers a test manager reports, on one fictional software company's release, for QA engineers, test leads and project managers. You turn a test log into the daily execution status with pass rates per module, compare modules by defect density per KLOC and find the hotspot, calculate defect removal efficiency over four releases and the phase that let defects escape, cross-tabulate defects in a severity × priority matrix with COUNTIFS and a severity index, measure defect ageing and mean time to fix, estimate a system test bottom-up from requirements to working days, build a requirements traceability matrix with the coverage of high-priority items and track reliability growth before a Go/No-go release checklist. It uses general testing terms and is not affiliated with ISTQB. The first lab is free.
