Terms of service
1. Scope
These terms apply to the use of tabellab.com ("Tabellab"), operated by Babala Özdemir, Füllinsdorf, Switzerland (see imprint). By creating an account you accept these terms.
2. The service
Tabellab offers online courses with interactive spreadsheet labs, knowledge checks, final exams and certificates of completion. Some content is free (the course "Excel for Finance" including its certificate, and the first lesson of every other course). All other content requires a paid subscription.
3. Account
You need a valid email address and must keep your password confidential. An account is personal and may not be shared. You must be at least 16 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Plans and prices are shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may be added where required.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time in your account ("Manage subscription"). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. 14-day money-back guarantee: if you are not satisfied, email hello@tabellab.com within 14 days of your first payment and we refund it in full via Stripe. The guarantee is for genuine evaluation; it does not apply once a certificate has been issued to you, or where there is evidence of abuse. After 14 days, payments for the current period are not refunded; cancelling stops the next renewal.
- Consumers in the EU/EEA: your access to the digital content starts immediately after payment at your express request; you acknowledge that your statutory right of withdrawal therefore ends once access has begun. Our 14-day money-back guarantee above applies regardless, and nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights.
5. Certificates
A certificate confirms that the holder completed all lessons of a Tabellab course and passed its final exam. It is not an official, state-recognised or professional qualification. The name on a certificate is taken from your profile when the certificate is issued; please enter your real name. We may revoke certificates obtained by cheating or with a false name.
6. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to bypass access restrictions, scrape or redistribute course content, automate the checking system, or disrupt the service. Course content is protected by copyright and is licensed to you for personal learning only.
7. No professional advice
Course content is educational. It is not accounting, tax, legal or investment advice. Examples use simplified, fictitious figures.
8. Availability and liability
We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to intent and gross negligence. Mandatory consumer protection law remains unaffected.
9. Changes
We may change these terms with reasonable notice by email or on the website. If you do not agree, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.
10. Law and venue
Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Place of jurisdiction is Liestal, Switzerland, subject to mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules.
