About this course
This beginner course shows you how to set up and use Kali Linux responsibly. You compare three ways to run Kali, install it as a virtual machine from the official image, update it, change the default password and see why Kali no longer logs you in as root. You tour the application menu and learn how its categories follow the stages of a security assessment, practise network basics with ip a, ping and an nmap host sweep, and launch nmap, Wireshark and Burp Suite for the first time. You then build an isolated home lab with Metasploitable or DVWA, protect it with snapshots and finish with authorization and the law. Each lesson ends with a challenge, a solution and a quiz, and the final exam leads to the Tabellab certificate. For authorized, legal use only.
