About this course
This beginner course builds the foundation every security learner needs before specialising. You start with the mindset shift from defender to attacker, then learn the core vocabulary: vulnerability versus exploit, payload, threat model and the CIA triad. A full lesson covers ethics and legal authorization, the one rule that keeps testing lawful. You set up an isolated practice virtual machine, get comfortable with the Linux command line, and run your first host discovery and port scan to understand IP addresses, ports and services. A map of the security domains helps you choose where to go deeper, and a study-method lesson shows how to actually get good. Each lesson ends with a quiz, and a final exam leads to a certificate. Everything is practised on your own machine, for authorized learning only.
