About this course
You keep the books of a fictional rowing club like a volunteer treasurer, one checked formula at a time. You look up membership fees, pro-rate them for members who join during the year and total the arrears. You keep a cash book with a running balance and SUMIFS by category, close a month of petty cash under the imprest system and reconcile the cash book with the bank statement until the difference is zero. Then you compare fundraising events per volunteer hour, report budget vs actual with favourable and adverse variances, calculate free reserves in months of spending, find the low point of a cash forecast and prepare the annual accounts for the members' meeting.
