About this course
In this course you do knitting and crochet maths in a spreadsheet, using fictional patterns and yarns. You turn a measured swatch into stitches and rows per 10 cm and per inch, and compare it with the pattern gauge. You calculate cast-on counts from a finished width, round them to the pattern repeat with MROUND and add edge stitches. You spread increases and decreases evenly with INT and MOD, estimate yarn from a weighed swatch and buy whole balls with ROUNDUP, and rescale a whole pattern for a new yarn. You plan a top-down raglan yoke, count the stitches of crochet circles and granny-square blankets, and finish with a costed project log and an hours chart.
