About this course

In this course you run the production checks of a fictional design studio in a spreadsheet, one job per lab. You turn pixels into effective PPI and flag low-resolution images, add bleed and safe margins and convert between millimetres and inches. You count items per press sheet upright and rotated with INT and MAX and add overs with ROUNDUP, turn paper gsm into grams and look up postage bands with XLOOKUP. Then you round booklet pages to multiples of 4 and 16 with CEILING, calculate spine widths, build a modular type scale with POWER, set up a column grid with a baseline step and find the break-even quantity between digital and offset printing.
