About this course
An airline revenue management course that runs one fictional airline's pricing and seat inventory decisions in a spreadsheet, for revenue analysts, travel industry staff and students. You turn route data into ASK, RPK, load factor, yield, RASK, CASK and the break-even load factor, protect seats for late high-fare passengers with Littlewood's rule and NORM.INV, set nested booking limits for four fare classes with EMSR-b, forecast cancellations and no-shows, set the overbooking level from the costs of empty seats and denied boardings and check it with the binomial distribution, forecast a flight with additive and multiplicative pickup on a booking curve, judge routes by their network contribution and pick the fare for the last 40 seats that earns the most, with ancillary revenue per passenger. The first lab is free.
