About this course

In this course you run the numbers of a fictional freelance translation business in a spreadsheet. You count characters with LEN, convert texts into standard lines and estimate target length with expansion factors. You weight a match analysis with a discount grid using SUMPRODUCT, work back from an income target to a rate per word and round it up with CEILING. You plan delivery dates with WORKDAY, count the days a client allows and price rush surcharges with IFS. You apply minimum charges, compare post-editing and proofreading per hour, track payment terms and agency margins, quote a six-language localisation project and finish with a client dashboard and chart.
