About this course

This course teaches you to automate security tasks with Python instead of relying on other people’s tools. You start with the string-versus-bytes distinction and clean command-line scripts, then open raw TCP sockets and turn a single connection test into a fast, threaded port checker for hosts you own. You read service banners to fingerprint versions, drive web servers with urllib, and run content discovery against your own lab app to find forgotten paths. A dedicated lesson turns the classic brute-forcer into a defensive control test that verifies your login enforces rate limiting and lockout, and you write a raw Redis client to see a text protocol up close. A final recon script ties the pieces together. Every exercise runs in your own isolated VM or lab, for authorised, legal use, with a challenge, a worked solution and a quiz in each lesson.
