About this course

This course teaches the methodical workflow of an authorized network test, practised entirely on deliberately vulnerable virtual machines you run yourself. You follow the full loop: discover live hosts, scan ports with nmap, and fingerprint services and versions. Enumeration lessons show how web servers leak through forgotten paths and backup files, and why a single exposed config with reused credentials is so dangerous. You learn how weak passwords fall to a wordlist, how an interactive shell changes your position, and why unauthenticated data services like Redis are a classic finding. A privilege-escalation lesson reviews the common Linux misconfigurations and the hardening fix for each. A masscan lesson covers fast scanning and responsible rate limits. A capstone and report tie recon to concrete defence. Quizzes, a final exam and a certificate are included.
