Manufacturing Metrics: OEE, Capacity & Takt Time
Measure OEE by shift and the six big losses, balance a line to takt, find the bottleneck, read MTBF and MTTR, cost SMED, scrap and rework, and plan capacity against demand – every cell checked as you go.
The first lesson is free — no account needed.
About this course
A manufacturing metrics course that runs one moulding plant's numbers in a spreadsheet, for production engineers, plant controllers and operations students. You split a day on a moulding press into availability, performance and quality per shift and pool the day's OEE correctly, turn a week of press data into the six big losses, work out takt time, cycle time and how well a line is balanced, find the true bottleneck from cycle times, OEE and shift patterns, turn a breakdown log into MTBF, MTTR and availability, measure the press time SMED frees up and how it shrinks the economic batch size, cost scrap and rework with first-pass and rolled throughput yield and decide month by month between base capacity, overtime and a second shift. The first lab is free.
