Statistics for Lab Sciences: Calibration, Uncertainty & QC
Analyse real-world style lab data hands-on: replicates and %RSD, outlier tests, calibration curves with LINEST, unknowns with their uncertainty, LOD/LOQ, uncertainty budgets, Westgard control charts and method comparison, every cell checked live. Statistics only, no lab procedures.
The first lesson is free — no account needed.
About this course
A statistics course for lab sciences that analyses one fictional water-testing lab's nitrate data in a spreadsheet, for analytical chemists, lab technicians and science students. You summarise replicates with the mean, standard deviation and %RSD, test a suspicious result with Grubbs' test and Dixon's Q test, fit a calibration curve with SLOPE, INTERCEPT and LINEST and check R² and the residuals, turn signals into concentrations with their uncertainty, estimate the limits of detection and quantitation with 3.3σ/S and 10σ/S, build an uncertainty budget with the sum and product rules, plot a Levey-Jennings control chart and flag Westgard rules, and compare two methods with a paired t-test. Statistics only, no lab procedures. The first lab is free.
