About this course
An epidemiology course in Excel that builds the core numbers of public health from raw counts. You calculate incidence, prevalence and crude death rates per 100,000, age-standardise two towns with SUMPRODUCT and watch the crude comparison flip, read a cohort study as a 2×2 table with relative risk, risk difference and odds ratio, evaluate a screening test with sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV, turn trial results into NNT and NNH, put 95% confidence intervals around a proportion and a relative risk, chart an epidemic curve with its growth rate, doubling time and a rough R, and build a mini life table. Educational, not medical advice. The first lab is free.
