Sheet Metal Fabrication Quoting: Flat Blanks & Bend Allowance, Nesting & Material Utilisation, Laser Cut Time, Press Brake Time & Batch Pricing
Quote sheet metal parts the way a job shop does: flat blank sizes from bend allowances, parts nested on sheets and the material used, laser cutting time from perimeter and pierce points, press brake setup and bend time, coating and margin, and the batch size where the price per part flattens out, with every cell checked as you go.

About this course
In this course you quote fictional sheet metal parts like a job shop, with every cell checked. You calculate bend allowances with RADIANS and K-factors, work from outside dimensions with setback and bend deduction, and turn blanks into area, weight and material cost. You nest parts on standard sheets in upright and rotated layouts, round the sheets up and measure utilisation, estimate laser time from cut length and pierces, and build press brake time from setups and bends. You add coating, inserts and packaging and finish with a quote at four batch sizes, margin on price and a chart.
