Energy Bill & Load Profile Analytics: kWh, Peak Demand & Tariffs

Analyse a small business's 15-minute smart-meter data: kW vs kWh, hourly load profiles with AVERAGEIFS, peak demand and load factor, a time-of-use bill, demand charges and peak shaving, night baseload, weather normalisation with degree days and a three-tariff comparison dashboard: 8 graded labs with illustrative tariffs.

About this course

An energy bill and load profile analytics course that works through the 15-minute smart-meter data of one fictional bakery in a spreadsheet, for energy and facility managers, finance staff, small business owners and energy students. You turn meter readings into kWh and keep energy (kWh) apart from demand (kW), build hourly load profiles for a Friday and a Saturday with AVERAGEIFS and chart them, calculate peak demand and the load factor month by month, price a month on a time-of-use tariff with an approximate lookup, split bills into energy cost and demand charge and value a peak-shaving plan, measure the night baseload and what it costs per year, normalise consumption for the weather with heating degree days, SLOPE and INTERCEPT, and compare three tariffs over twelve months in a savings dashboard. Illustrative tariffs. The first lab is free.
