About this course
In this course you practise the numbers questions of buyer and category manager interviews on fictional suppliers. You calculate annual savings and separate hard cost reduction from cost avoidance, then show how much lands in this financial year. You build a should-cost price from material yield, machine and labour time, overhead and margin, and compare three suppliers on total cost of ownership with freight, a fictional duty, carrying cost and defects. You turn early-payment discounts into an annual rate, normalise quotes with different terms, apply a capped index clause, score supplier risk, derive walk-away, target and opening prices and finish with a timed case exhibit.
