Staffing 24/7 Posts: Post Hours, Relief Factors, Officers Needed, Shift Patterns, Overtime & Bill-Rate Build-Ups

Staff posts that never close, such as a site gate, a reception desk or a control room: turn opening hours into post hours, subtract leave, training and absence to get net hours, use the relief factor to find the officers you need, check a rota for gaps with MOD, cost overtime against new hires, build a bill rate with a margin that holds and report every site on one dashboard, with every cell checked as you go.

About this course

In this course you build the staffing workbook of a fictional company that runs gates, reception desks, patrols and a control room on three sites. You turn opening times into weekly and annual post hours, subtract leave, public holidays, training and an absence allowance to get the net hours of one officer, and divide them into the post hours to find the relief factor and the officers you must employ. Then you generate a four-crew rota with MOD and INDEX and count gaps and double cover, compare overtime with new hires, build an hourly bill rate from pay, on-costs, overhead and margin, track the monthly margin per post and finish with a multi-site dashboard and chart.
