About this course
This course builds commitment-based budget control for a fictional institute in a spreadsheet. You post budget transfers with SUMIFS to get the revised budget per line, turn open purchase orders into commitments and leave cancelled ones out. You match partial invoices to their orders, release commitments with MIN and MAX, and compute the available budget as revised budget minus actual spend minus open commitments. A funds check approves or holds new requests. You split invoice differences into price and quantity effects with a tolerance rule, forecast the year-end out-turn, carry open orders forward under a fictional policy and finish with a RAG-status budget report and chart.
