About this course

This course follows a fictional building services contractor from wages to a paid invoice. You turn base wages into burdened cost per paid hour, take out absence and non-billable time to find billable hours, spread overhead and add a profit markup to set a charge-out rate per grade. Then you work through daywork sheets with breaks, night call-outs and quarter-hour rounding, apply overtime and weekend premiums from a rate table, mark up materials with tiered percentages, bill service calls with minimum charges, travel zones and equipment hire, build a weekly invoice under a not-to-exceed cap and review the job's margin against a fixed price.
