About this course
A sports analytics course in Excel that builds the numbers club analysts and scouts use, starting from raw results. You turn match results into a league table with tiebreaks, compare players fairly with per-90 rates, rate basketball scorers by effective field-goal % and true shooting %, sum expected goals (xG) and measure over- and under-performance, update Elo ratings with home advantage, find lucky and unlucky teams with the Pythagorean expectation, rank scouting targets with z-scores and predict match outcomes with Poisson goals. The first lab is free.
