About this course
In this course you build a deputy head's timetabling and staffing workbook for a fictional secondary school, one checked formula at a time. You turn pupil numbers into classes with CEILING, add up the teacher periods the curriculum needs and convert them into teacher FTE with a contact ratio. You decide which electives run and with how many groups, total teacher loads from an allocation list with SUMIFS and compare them with part-time allowances. Then you measure room frequency, occupancy and utilisation, clash-check a draft timetable with COUNTIFS, price supply cover, calculate pupil–teacher ratio and average class size, and finish with next year's staffing plan and an FTE gap chart.
