About this course
A dental practice economics course that runs the numbers of one fictional general practice, Lindenbrook Dental Studio, with six chairs, two dentists and three hygienists, in a spreadsheet, for practice owners and managers, associate dentists, dental students and practice brokers. You measure chair utilisation and the hours lost to no-shows, production per hour for dentists and hygienists, the recall and patient retention rates and what reactivation is worth, case acceptance and unscheduled treatment, insurance write-offs and the net collection rate, overhead by category against targets, an associate's pay as the greater of a percentage of collections and a daily guarantee, and the practice value as a percentage of collections and as an EBITDA multiple in a chart. Illustrative numbers, business math only, not clinical, legal or tax advice. The first lab is free.
