About this course
A car dealership economics course that runs one fictional dealership's month in a spreadsheet, for dealership managers, F&I and sales staff, automotive finance students and anyone who wonders where a dealer really makes money. You calculate the front-end gross on new and used deals, measure F&I penetration, products per unit and PVR, combine them into total gross per unit and test a shift in the new/used mix, age the used-car lot against a 60-day rule with days supply and turn, compare floorplan interest with the manufacturer holdback, appraise trade-ins by working back from the retail price, measure the fixed-operations absorption rate of service and parts and build the dealership P&L with break-even units and a chart. Illustrative numbers, educational only, not financial advice. The first lab is free.
