About this course

This beginner course explains how iOS works before you ever test an app. You learn the layers of the platform: the XNU/Darwin kernel, the app sandbox, mandatory code signing, Secure Boot and the Secure Enclave. You look inside an .ipa and an .app bundle, read Info.plist with plutil and identify the Mach-O binary, using an app you built yourself in Xcode. Practical lessons show configuration profiles, Developer Mode on iOS 16 and later, pairing an iPhone with Xcode and building a sample app with a free Apple ID. You compare the iOS Simulator with a real device, see why a jailbreak is risky and why it is not needed here, and learn where secrets belong with Keychain accessibility and Data Protection classes. The course closes with OWASP MASVS basics, legal boundaries, challenges and quizzes.
