Aquarium Math: Tank Volumes, Water Changes, Dosing & Stocking
Calculate the real water volume of a fictional tank, plan water changes with dilution and steady-state maths, dose a water conditioner and a fertiliser by fictional labels, size heater and filter, check stocking and running costs and log water tests, with every cell checked as you go.

About this course
In this course you run the numbers behind a fictional planted community tank. You calculate gross and net volume for rectangular, cylindrical and bow-front tanks and convert litres to US gallons. You model water changes as dilution, find the steady state with regular build-up, solve for the weeks until a reading drops below a limit with logarithms and compare change schedules by their peak. You dose a water conditioner and a fertiliser from fictional labels with C₁V₁ = C₂V₂, size heater and filter, apply a fictional stocking rule, price the electricity and analyse a water test log with rolling averages, COUNTIFS and a trend chart.
