About this course
An Islamic finance course that shows how the main contracts work in numbers, on one fictional wholesaler's deals. You price a murabaha cost-plus sale, split it into 24 instalments and find its implied annual rate, build an ijara rental schedule for a leased van, model a diminishing musharaka home purchase as the bank's share falls, split mudaraba and musharaka results by their profit ratios, including a loss, work out the distributions, current yield and annualised return of a sukuk with RATE, run a year of a takaful fund with its wakala fee and surplus, calculate zakat on business assets at the commonly used 2.5% and compare financing offers by their effective annual cost. Educational calculations with fictional figures, not a religious ruling and not financial advice. The first lab is free.
