About this course
A futures and commodities course that turns contract specs into the numbers a trader or hedger checks before every trade. You calculate contract value and tick value and convert price moves into dollars, work out the P&L of long and short trades after fees, run a crude oil position through eight days of mark-to-market and find every margin call, measure leverage and size each trade so a stop-loss costs at most 1.5% of the account, track the basis between cash and futures corn as they converge, read a futures curve for contango, backwardation and roll yield, hedge 75% of a farm's harvest and compare hedged with unhedged revenue, and price calendar spreads. Contract specs and prices are illustrative, the course has no link to any exchange, and it is educational, not trading advice. The first lab is free.
