About this course
A carbon accounting course in Excel that builds one fictional manufacturer's greenhouse gas inventory along the lines of the GHG Protocol. You classify emission sources into Scope 1, 2 and 3 and total them with SUMIFS, multiply activity data by emission factors for fuels and electricity, report Scope 2 location-based and market-based, estimate business travel and commuting, compare intensity per revenue, employee and unit with absolute emissions, set a linear reduction target from a baseline year and chart the path, rank abatement options by cost per tonne in a marginal abatement cost curve, stress-test profit under carbon prices and chart ESG KPIs. Emission factors are illustrative. The first lab is free.
