Energy Audit Math: End Uses, Lighting, Motors, Compressed Air, Heat Pumps & Verified Savings

Audit a fictional workshop like an energy auditor: an energy balance with significant uses, kWh-per-unit indicators, an LED retrofit, fans on variable speed drives, compressed-air leaks, boiler vs heat pump, a ranked measures list and savings verified with a regression baseline and a CUSUM chart, with every cell checked as you go.

About this course

In this course you audit a fictional metal workshop in a live spreadsheet. You estimate kWh by end use from rated power, load factor and hours, find the significant energy uses and track kWh per unit produced. You calculate an LED retrofit with occupancy sensors and its payback, size the savings of a variable speed drive on a fan with the cube law, and turn a compressed-air leak survey into a yearly cost checked by a leak-down test. You compare an old boiler, a condensing boiler and a heat pump on running cost, 15-year cost and CO2e, rank the measures, and verify the savings with a regression baseline and a CUSUM chart.
