About this course
An actuarial mathematics course that takes one 10-year endowment policy for a 60-year-old from interest theory to its reserve chart, in 8 graded spreadsheet labs. You turn a nominal rate into an effective annual rate and build the discount factors v^n, value an annuity-immediate and an annuity-due, derive dx, qx, px and tpx from the survivors of a life table, add survival probabilities up to the curtate life expectancy, price a 10-year term insurance and a pure endowment with expected present values, value a temporary life annuity-due, set the net level premium with the equivalence principle and calculate the prospective reserve for every policy year. For actuarial students and insurance staff who want to see the formulas work. The life table is illustrative, and Tabellab has no affiliation with the Society of Actuaries. The first lab is free.
